Welcome to my little slice of the InterTubes

If I lived in South Park

Ah, you found me!

Hi, I hope you can find something useful here. If not, well just have some fun looking around. Who knows, you might learn something. Then again, you might simply waste an hour or two of your life reading stupid blog posts about stuff you don't really care about. If that's the case, then ... gotcha! Either way, thanks for stopping by.

What is inside?

Here's a brief synopsis of what each blog is about. They have been separated for your convenience.

Blog
This blog is very generic, hence the name. It's mostly just ramblings about nonsense, links to stupid things I have found on the InterTubes, and general inanity.

44 Is Not Enough! I am running for City Councilman from Ward 4 in O'Fallon, Missouri. In this blog I have posted voter information, registration schedules, links to Missouri statutes, email links and other contact information for all of the April election candidates, and other political stuff. Most importantly, I have included my opinions and ideas about what direction the city should take, and what I feel will best serve the citizenry of O'Fallon.

"IF" you build it ... Let me take you back to late 2007. A developer rolled into O'Fallon with lawyer in tow and asked the city for almost $2.2 million in tax abatements so that they could "clean up" the land they had just bought. The developer was Highland Development of Saint Louis (No relation to Highland Homes of Plano, Texas). It turned out that Highland Development is (was?) a bad company to do any kind of business with. In fact, I now own one of their old web sites: catesintheloop.com. They let it go to pasture, and for $10.00, I bought it.

O’Fallon, Missouri News and Gossip I tagged this with the infamous line, "If it's news to them, it's news to us" because it's really kind of true. The people of O'Fallon – as a generalization – are sometimes supremely unaware of the things going on inside their own City Hall. Through newspaper articles, personal interviews, and inferences, I hope to provide the dirt and scandal and innuendo that a population needs to have in order to get really pissed off at their elected officials.

Official Notices from the City of O'Fallon, Missouri The title should make its purpose kind of clear, yeah? When the city holds a meeting, the meeting's date, time, and agenda have to be published. I receive most of these notices through emails. I then post them to this blog. Or I will post them in this blog once I rebuild it.

Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, baked beans and Spam Monty Python are the creators of the skit (Youtube video link provided in the blog) that gave everybody's favorite type of communication its name. Without them and their Vikings, we might be calling it Ookey instead. This blog contains copies of spam that tries to work its way into the comments and trackbacks of the various blogs, as well as copies of the UCE that lands in my inbox. This blog is in the process of being updated. Right now it contains only a smattering of spam from the blogs and no UCEs.

There was an accident, then everything died. Trouble was... it didn't stay dead.

These are blogs that are in the process of being created or reanimated but they aren't quite there yet.

I Went to Hazelwood ... It has always bugged me that those "Class Reunion" sites let you sign up for free, but if you really want to get in touch with someone from your old school, well you have to pay for that privilege. I am working on THREE new sites for my old high school district (Hazelwood, Missouri). One site for Hazelwood West, one for Hazelwood Central, and one for Hazelwood East. All classes, all faculty and staff and administrators will be welcome. No registration, no cash changing hands, just contact information and reunion information (hopefully). If it works, I'll look into making more sites for more schools. We'll see.

Unnamed photo blog I have quite a few photos holed up over at Flickr, and I want to move them here to my server and run them through my software and offer them as full-sized images. I just haven't quite figured out how to do it yet.

They're dead, Dave. They're dead. Dave, they are all dead. They're dead, Dave.

These pieces of the site were planned and in the works, but they were never quite ready for human consumption, and have gone to the boneyard.

Unnamed community forum A free-for-all in typewritten form. You guys pick the topics, you guys direct the conversation, you guys hammer it out. Eventually. Once I get the tinkering done. Removed from consideration at this time.

The end.

Blog Changes – Updated infrequently

02 April — After a bit of a "nutty" break, I am back to make sure that the people that you vote into office will have to answer to at least a few people in O'Fallon. I got a little fed up with trying to do the right thing only to be shouted at, harassed, belittled, and generally spit upon. I don't get paid to do this, and it takes up huge chunks of time. One day I decided that I wasn't going to do it for a while, and I shut it all down. I feel a little bit better now, and I'm bringing the blogs back online. Look for updates to most of them in the very near future.

03 March — I mentioned that I was working on a photo blog and a public forum. I haven't gotten as far as I would like on either project. Neither the photo blog nor the forum is ready for public consumption. I had hoped to have everything in place by last Sunday. Obviously I didn't. Sorry about that. I have moved the date back to the first of April. This is turning out to be a bigger project than I had originally thought.

27 Feb. — Big news in the O'Fallon News Blog about the return of Robert Lowery, Jr. to his position as City Administrator.

17 Feb. — I have begun the task of reintegration the O'Fallon Notices. The database is intact, but the formatting and the links need to be rebuilt still. Look for completion by 01 March 2009.

14 Feb. — After the recent brush with stupidity and the subsequent loss of all of the blogs, I am happy to announce that they are back up (if not completely polished) and running – mostly running.

11 Feb. — There is a new blog that is really just full of stupid information. It's nothing more than copies of all of the spam that I receive. It's eventually going to be MUCH larger. Right now it has a few of the spams that Blog has received. I should start going through the 800+ spam emails I have saved and get those up as well. If you have spam emails of your own that you would like me to post for you, send them my way!

11 Feb. — I am trying to get a forum started on the site. I am still tinkering with it, and I hope to have it running by the end of the month. Look for it beginning on 01 March (hopefully).
